· Computational biologist (CBRS)

 

Assignment

The Computational biologist is responsible for analyzing study data for research projects within academic and government agencies.  Specifically, this involves ‘Omics data analysis and integration; optimizing R scripts and plotting methods according to the needs of customers and project; database maintenance.

 

Qualifications

· Ph.D. in computational biology;

· Oversea education and publication record are plus;

· Extensive Experience in R;

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English;

· Excellent experience in ‘Omics data integration and interpretation;

· Basic knowledge of Mass Spectrometer is a plus.


· Biologist/Analyst (BRS)

 

Assignment

The biologist is responsible for study data for research projects within academic and government agencies.  Specifically, this involves ‘Omics data analysis and interpretation; writing study report and manuscripts. The successful candidate will be expected to:

 

Qualifications

√ Ph.D degree in biology, medicine, biochemistry or related disciplines;

√ Oversea education and publication record are plus;

√ Experience in R;

√ Extensive experience in mass spectrometer data extraction, processing, and analysis;

√ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English.

√ Service mind-set with highly collaborative and interpersonal skills;

√ Ability to network, expand influence, and achieve success in a globalized research setting;

√ Display solid organization and time management skills.


Research Scientist, Mass Spectrometrist (MSRS)

 

Assignment 

The Mass Spectrometrist is responsible for supervise two mass spectrometer assistants in daily measurement and quality control; mass spectrometer based data processing and analysis; expanding reference compound database; optimizing MS methods to suit the research purposes and customers’ requirements.

 

Qualifications

· Ph.D degree in biology, medicine, biochemistry or related disciplines;

· Oversea education and publication record are plus;

· Experience in R;

· A broad overview of chemistry, including chemical structures and nomenclature, and familiarity with general concepts, practices and procedures is expected;

· Extensive experience in mass spectrometer method setting, MS data extraction, processing, and analysis.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

 

Common Assignment for LA:

√ Daily operation of the instruments, including routine maintenance and system performance checks;

√ Preparation of solutions and standards as needed for operations of instruments;

√ Diagnosing instrument problems and performing unscheduled maintenance or scheduling external repair service, as needed;

√ Analyze biological samples by performing flow injection mass spectrometry techniques following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);

√ Review data to insure data quality standards are met;

√ Providing daily reports for documentation of the QC performance for each data set;

√ Providing input for improving and refining the quality control and assurance processes;

√ Demonstrates attention to detail;

√ Maintain consumables inventories;

√ Independently perform sample measurements, including pipetting and weighing of biological samples;

√ Operation of lab robotics and equipment during reconstitution of sample extracts.

√ Prepare Sample Prep worksheets in LIMS.

√ Perform or assist in accessioning of incoming client samples.

√ Maintain laboratory equipment and report problems to the MSRS.


MS lab assistant (MSLA)

 

Assignment 


The MS lab assistant takes more responsible for MS daily running and maintenance; maintain consumables inventories and ordering; and lab training.

 

Qualifications:

√ BS Degree in biochemistry related disciplines with 2-4 years of relevant post-degree experience;

√ Experience with Q-Exactive and GC-TOF instruments are preferred;

√ Broad overview of mass spectrometry and familiarity with general concepts, practices and procedures;

√ Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complicated tasks;

√ Strict adherence to a rigorous platform schedule is essential;

√ Have a solid understanding of basic laboratory skills and protocols;

√ Ability to work independently or in a team environment is required;

√ Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
